Lung Cancer Awareness

Did you know over 13,000 people will be diagnosed with lung cancer this year? Breathlessness, lingering cough or fatigue?

Value Every Breath

Each breath is something we rarely stop to appreciate,  until it becomes harder to take. Lung cancer is one of Australia’s most common and deadliest cancers, often developing quietly before symptoms appear.

At The X-Ray Group, we believe every breath is worth protecting. That’s why we’re proud to support the National Lung Cancer Screening Program, helping Australians at risk detect lung cancer early through safe, low-dose CT scans.

Know the Signs of Lung Disease

While early lung cancer often has no symptoms, it’s important to be aware of:

  • Shortness of breath or wheezing
  • A cough that doesn’t go away
  • Chest pain or tightness
  • Coughing up blood or unusual mucus
  • Ongoing fatigue or unexplained weight loss

If you experience any of these symptoms, don’t wait, talk to your GP today.

Take a Deep Breath and Take Action

In Australia, around 85% of lung cancer cases in men and 70% in women are estimated to be a result of smoking tobacco, according to the Cancer Council. Second-hand smoking, exposure to asbestos, occupational substances, family history and old age also contribute to the cause of lung cancer.
